Grüezi and Mabuhay dear @flyswiss followers. My name is Jan and I am 23 years old. I have been a cabin crew member at SWISS for two and a half years now. I feel proud and honoured to show you some of the memories I have made so far and give you insights into my life as a cabin crew member at SWISS. Also, I am delighted to introduce you to some of my colleagues whom I met during my time at SWISS. So, are you ready to take off with me?

My roots are in the Philippines but I was born and raised in Bonn, Germany. Now I live in Switzerland and I could not be happier.

Flying has always been my passion. I started flying when I was a couple of months old. As you can imagine, I cannot remember anything from my first flight, but my parents told me that it was from Frankfurt to Manila. From then on, I have been flying back and forth between Germany and the Philippines.

Since I am six years old, I have been telling my parents that I wanted to become a flight attendant one day. I remember buying trays to prepare the meals like on board and let my family sit on the couch. Then I would put on my suit and pretend to serve just like a flight attendant. On field trips at school, I had been standing on the aisle and would do the safety demonstration for my classmates. So it has been clear for everyone that I would be in the air one day.

Already in high school, I have applied for SWISS and had my assessment in December 2018. A couple of weeks later, I received a positive message and my biggest dream came true. I will never forget my very first flight as an official flight attendant at SWISS. It was from Zurich to Prague, and I remember being very excited but nervous at the same time. The nervousness then faded away on the return flight, and we continued to Berlin.

My favourite destinations are the Asian destinations: Bombay, Beijing and Tokyo. These destinations make me feel a little closer to the Philippines. The markets are one of my favourite places to go because, in my opinion, they are the centre of everyday life. I feel proud and honoured to show you some of the memories I have made so far and give you insights into my life as a cabin crew member at SWISS. Also, I am delighted to introduce you to some of my colleagues whom I met during my time at SWISS.

So are you ready to take off with me?

See you on board, Jan
