Grüessech, hello, bonjour! I look forward to flying into the new decade with you on @flyswiss. My name is Kristina Roder, I am 30 years old and have been with SWISS on/off since 2012.
Having grown up in beautiful Thun at the foot of the Swiss Alps, I was fascinated by the world from an early age on. Maybe because I am a curious person, or maybe because my father was on the road a lot and I grew up with photos and stories from Egypt, Brazil and Mexico. In addition, my godmother also worked abroad at a Swiss embassy. The memory of my very first flight, which happened to be to Warsaw, is still vivid: I was eight years old and flying was a great adventure for me. Who would have thought that a few years later I would distribute toys to our little guests myself?
In 2012 I became a Flight Attendant at SWISS. Since then, I have shared my training, first experiences and adventures here on the SWISS blog, because writing is a little passion of mine. After a good two years, I quit my job as a flight attendant to gain professional experience in another field. Just to realize: I can’t do without flying! I missed my colleagues and the conversations with our guests, which have always given me new perspectives.
After my return to SWISS, I have now been flying for almost three years. This spring, I will be taking on a new professional challenge, but will remain with SWISS as a temporary flight attendant. I am happy to show you my view on flying over at @flyswiss, because for me being a flight attendant is much more than a job: it is a lifestyle, a calling, another world!
