Grüezi, dear @flyswiss Followers, and a warm welcome on board!

The days are getting shorter, and winter will soon be upon us. But we can always enjoy the sun in our wonderful workplace above the clouds, even during the grey season.

My name is Alexandra, and I’m delighted to be taking you with me on my travels as Instagramer of the Month November. As Maître de Cabine Europe, I mainly fly short-haul routes, but I do also often have the pleasure of enjoying wonderful destinations outside Europe as well.

I grew up in the Canton of Aargau, and after school I underwent commercial training. As the daughter of a pilot, I had always been in contact with the world of flying. My siblings and I had the privilege of being able to accompany our father on his trips on occasion, and so I was infected with the “flying bug” at an early age.

About four-and-a-half years ago my childhood dream came true, and I became a Flight Attendant. I am still fascinated by flying today. Even after countless take-offs, I still find that feeling of lifting off overwhelming. However, what has really made a lasting impression on me during this time is the encounters with our passengers and the many different crews I have travelled with and experienced many exciting situations with.

In November 2018 I then started my training as a Maître de Cabine, and recently completed it. I am thoroughly enjoying this new task, and every day it presents me with new challenges. On board, I am the interface between the cabin, cockpit and ground staff, and I try to co-ordinate all the different issues with each other. Life is certainly never boring.

I am looking forward to telling you a little more about the training and tasks of the Maître de Cabine this month, and to giving you a look behind the scenes.

And for now, relax and get ready for our trip through November. Have a good flight!

Alexandra
