SWISS and Sternschnuppe make Céline’s dream come true
Our company has been working with the Sternschnuppe Foundation to brighten the lives of children with illnesses or disabilities since the beginning of this year – as one of our crews helped do recently on a Zurich-Hamburg flight.
The Sternschnuppe (“Shooting Star”) Foundation has certainly made Céline’s dream come true. Last month she was able to fly to Hamburg with her family to see the musical The Lion King and get an exclusive glimpse backstage. But it wasn’t just the show that filled Céline with delight: her flight there was an unforgettable experience, too, thanks to our SWISS crew.
The crew of flight LX 1052 had been briefed in advance that 17-year-old Céline would be on board for her Sternschnuppe treat. So they took it upon themselves to arrange a surprise of their own. In no time at all our crew had conjured up a Lion King gift pack with Lioness Nala and made a personal “welcome aboard” card. And they also ensured that our special guest and her family enjoyed some very special service throughout their time on board.
Céline and her family were overwhelmed by our warm welcome and care. “We had a really special flight,” said her mother afterwards. “The crew looked after us so well! We were so touched, and we just enjoyed every minute of it.” Our crew enjoyed having their special guest on board, too. “Céline really touched us all,” says Maître de Cabine Barbara Golderer. Together with Barbara were M/C Ozan Özbey, Flight Attendants Vivien Jungi and Clarissa Cepic and, in the cockpit, Captains Thomas Roth and Adrian Reutemann and First Officer Christian Blasimann.
A promising partnership
Our company has been working with the Sternschnuppe Foundation to make dreams come true for youngsters with a serious illness or disability since the beginning of this year. Our commitment here is centered on donating flights for the foundation’s activities. In addition, we also offer “experience afternoons” for the children concerned and their families. Our involvement with this Zurich and Lausanne-based organization supplements our long-standing partnership with SOS Children’s Villages, with whom we support children in need at and near a number of SWISS destinations.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the crew of LX 1052 and everyone else at SWISS who has been helping us in our work with the Sternschnuppe Foundation. With your warmth, your energy and your personal commitment, you are all turning this new partnership into a very special experience for everyone concerned!
