Nicole Kobler’s dream of a career in aviation has come true. A few weeks ago she underwent and successfully passed the assessment for cabin crew members.
Andrea Huber, Team Leader Human Resources Cabin Crew
Cabin crew members are the public face of SWISS and it is they who create the famous SWISS atmosphere. Our demanding and interesting task is to find the right employees for SWISS. Those who wish to make their dream of a career in air transport come true are invited to attend an assessment day with us in Zurich. This first opportunity to become familiar with SWISS often involves great expectations combined with a certain degree of nervousness. We too are eager to meet and get to know the many different people who attend these sessions. Even though the assessment naturally involves tension and uncertainty, we place great importance on making this first encounter a positive experience and on establishing a good basis for a future employment relationship. We make a point of integrating SWISS culture into the assessment, during which information about the job and the company is distributed.
Where Zurich has nothing to do with banks, insurances and chocolate.
Christine Moch, Manager Advertising
The part of Zurich known locally as “Kreis” 4 and 5 and specifically the area around Langstrasse is where the city really comes to life. The area around this lively street is full of bars, clubs, shops, cafés etc. If you like a mixture of people from all over the world, this is the place to go.
My personal favourites are:
Shopping: Edition Populaire opens once a month for 2 weeks with only 4 new products at a time, which are carefully selected by the owners Aleli and Kaspar. If you’re looking for a special birthday present for a good friend who has an eye for special things, you have come to the right place. And if you’ve missed an “edition”, you can still order it online as long as the products are still in stock.

The extremely talented British singer-songwriter not only composed No. 1 hits such as All Saints’ “Black Coffee” but also just released her debut album. Enjoy her inspiring music channel exclusively on SWISS with a selection of her own compositions as well as her personal favourite songs.
What inspired you the most while creating your debut album?
Different situations in life, real experiences that touch you emotionally, happiness or sometimes sadness, a moment’s observation captured in a song.
What can the SWISS passengers expect from your self created music channel?
I selected music that you can immerse yourself in, so the time flies by.
I’m well into the flight attendant’s routine now. Though in this job, there’s really no such thing as a routine!
A day after my Moscow rotation I flew to Athens. Sara, my instructor flight attendant, was still there to guide me, and was a real pleasure to work with. The outbound flight seemed to take no time at all: it’s about three hours, but there’s so much to do in the cabin that the time literally flies by.
We got to Athens around midnight. Our crew hotel almost took my breath away: it was beautiful! And the Commander invited us all up for a drink at the rooftop bar. So shortly after, our whole crew was sitting and relaxing there. It was a great evening, because everyone got on incredibly well – laughing, swapping stories of their flying experiences and just soaking in the view of the Acropolis all lit up.
